Alejandra Ojeda de Ipsos: “Un tercio del país cree que tanto migración legal como ilegal está conectada con la crisis de seguridad pública. Eso es un riesgo”

So, I just read this article about Alejandra Ojeda’s interview with Ipsos, and it’s pretty eye-opening. Basically, she says that a third of the country believes that both legal and illegal migration are connected to the crisis of public security. And that’s a huge issue.

I mean, I get it. People are scared. They hear about all the crime and violence, and they associate it with immigrants. But the truth is, the vast majority of immigrants are just trying to make a better life for themselves. They’re not criminals.

That’s not to say there aren’t problems with immigration. There are definitely things that need to be fixed. But we can’t let fear drive us to make decisions that are based on stereotypes and misinformation.

Personally, I think it’s important to educate ourselves on these issues and to try to understand the root causes of migration. And I think it’s also important to remember that we’re all human beings, and we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

Overall, I think this article highlights an important conversation that we need to be having as a society. Instead of demonizing immigrants, we should be working together to find solutions that benefit everyone.
