I read this interesting article about a Republican advisor who’s claiming that the current constitution in Chile is what helped all children in the country have access to shoes. Crazy, right?
According to her, the constitution establishes certain guarantees that helped the government finance and design policies aimed at reducing poverty levels and providing education and healthcare access to all citizens. And that’s not all - apparently, the constitution also helped create a more open, stable economy where businesses can thrive and provide more employment opportunities to people.
Now, I’m not gonna lie - I’m no expert in constitutional law or economics. But I do know that access to education and healthcare, as well as stable employment, are essential pillars for any society to thrive and grow. It’s great to see that at least in Chile, their constitution is helping to make that happen for their citizens.
Granted, this is just one perspective from a republic adviser. It would be interesting to hear other opinions or see more research on how the constitution can impact social and economic policies in other countries. But for now, it’s a reminder that the legal frameworks we put in place can have long-lasting effects on our lives and communities.
