So I came across this article titled ‘Convivencia, Salud Mental y Plan de Reactivación Educativa’ by Luis Valenzuela, who is the Dean of Education at the Catholic University Silva Henriquez. I was intrigued by the title, so I decided to give it a read.
The article talks about the importance of promoting coexistence and mental health in order to successfully implement an educational recovery plan. It discusses how the pandemic has not only affected students’ academic performance but also their emotional and mental wellbeing, and how this affects their ability to learn and socialize.
One of the key takeaways from the article is the need for schools to prioritize activities that promote coexistence and emotional support among peers, as well as the importance of providing resources and support for students who may be struggling with their mental health.
I couldn’t agree more with this point. I remember when I was in high school, I often struggled with anxiety and it was a real challenge to try and focus on my studies. It wasn’t until I opened up to a few teachers and friends that I started to feel better and more able to cope.
Overall, I think the article highlights an important issue that we need to keep in mind as we continue to navigate the challenges of COVID-19. We need to place emphasis on not only academic success but also on fostering a healthy and supportive learning environment.
