“Copago Cero”: Salud gratuita para beneficiarios Fonasa

Have you heard about “Copago Cero”? It’s a new service in Chile that provides free healthcare to beneficiaries of the National Health Fund (Fonasa). This is a huge relief for many Chileans who have long struggled to afford medical care. In this article, we’ll dive deeper into what Copago Cero is all about and why it’s such a big deal.

Under the previous system, Fonasa beneficiaries had to pay a well-known copayment fee when they visited a healthcare professional. This fee was often too expensive for many people, leading to delays in getting the medical attention they needed. With Copago Cero, however, all copayments have been eliminated for over 14 million beneficiaries across the country.

This new program covers a wide range of medical services, including doctor visits, laboratory tests, hospitalizations, and other procedures, and it’s already being hailed as a major success. President Sebastián Piñera himself celebrated the launch of Copago Cero, saying that this initiative will help remove barriers to access to health care for those who need it the most.

This is a vital step towards making Chile’s healthcare system more equitable and accessible. However, there’s still more work to be done to ensure that everyone has access to quality healthcare, regardless of their socio-economic situation. Copago Cero is just the beginning of the country’s efforts to make healthcare more affordable and accessible to all.
