“Cuando eres jefe, das la cara”: La opinión de Matthei sobre Pinochet por violaciones a DD.HH. en dictadura - CHVNoticias.cl

So I was reading this article on CHVNoticias.cl and it really caught my attention. It’s about the former Mayor of Santiago, Evelyn Matthei, and her thoughts on the human rights violations committed during the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile.

Basically, Matthei believes that as a leader, you have to take responsibility for the actions of those under your command. In this case, she is referring to former dictator Augusto Pinochet, and the atrocities that were carried out by his regime.

Matthei’s views come from her own experience, as her father was also a military leader during the dictatorship, and she has spoken out against the human rights violations that took place. She believes that it’s important for leaders to admit when mistakes have been made, and to take steps to rectify them.

Personally, I think it’s really brave of Matthei to speak out like this, especially considering her family’s background. It shows that she is willing to stand up for what she believes in, even if it might be unpopular in certain circles.

Overall, I think this article is an important reminder of our responsibility as leaders, and the importance of holding ourselves and others accountable for our actions. It also highlights the ongoing struggle for human rights in Chile and around the world, and the need to continue fighting for justice.
