I read this super interesting article yesterday about this guy, Dr. Alexis Kalergis, who was just reelected to the International Scientific Advisory Council of the UN Research Center. Crazy, right?
Basically, Dr. Kalergis is a super smart and talented researcher who works at the Catholic University of Chile. He’s been doing a lot of important work in the field of immunology, specifically related to vaccines and infectious diseases. With COVID-19 still wreaking havoc around the world, this is definitely a topic that’s on a lot of people’s minds right now.
Anyway, the UN Research Center is a huge deal. It’s where a lot of important scientific work happens, and the fact that Dr. Kalergis was reelected to the council is a big vote of confidence in his abilities and expertise. It’s also really cool to see someone from Chile being recognized on a global stage like this — it’s not every day that someone from a smaller country gets this kind of recognition.
As someone who’s always been interested in science, it’s really inspiring to see people like Dr. Kalergis doing such important work. It’s a reminder that there are amazing things happening all over the world, and that even a small contribution can make a big difference in the grand scheme of things.
