"El Partido Comunista se fue a la chucha": CHV vive ’fail’ con micrófono abierto durante elecciones

So, I came across this super hilarious article “El Partido Comunista se fue a la chucha”: CHV vive ’fail’ con micrófono abierto durante elecciones. Honestly, the title alone had me in stitches. But, I digress. The article dives into a major fail on the part of Chilean TV channel CHV during the recent elections.

Basically, they left a hot mic open while being telecasted, and it picked up the sound of some bystander punctuating all the election discussion with some not so PG language. The cherry on top was when the guy shouted “El Partido Comunista se fue a la chucha”. For those of you who don’t know, that’s Chilean slang for “The Communist Party is f***ed”.

It’s such a classic slip up and just goes to show how even major media outlets can make glaring mistakes. In my personal experience, I’ve accidentally left my phone on speaker mid-conversation and made futile attempts to recover from the ensuing embarrassment. But, this is next level.

All jokes aside, this is actually a reminder of the importance of being mindful of what we say and how we say it in particularly sensitive situations. It may seem obvious, but I think sometimes we can get caught up in the heat of the moment and forget that we’re being recorded, listened to, or just generally have an audience.

Overall, this article is a funny read, but it also serves as a cautionary tale. It’s always good to be aware of our surroundings and behavior, especially in more public or sensitive contexts.
