"Ese es el mal del ser humano": Jorge Valdivia rompe el silencio sobre su salud mental

So, I read this article the other day about Jorge Valdivia, the famous Chilean soccer player, who recently opened up about his struggles with mental health. It caught my attention because it’s not often that we see famous athletes talking about this kind of thing.

Basically, Valdivia shared that he had been dealing with anxiety, panic attacks, and depression for several years. He said that he had tried to keep it hidden, but eventually realized that he needed to seek help in order to get better.

One of the things that I found interesting was that Valdivia talked about how he felt like there was a stigma around mental health in the world of professional sports. He said that people often think that athletes should be tough and not show any vulnerability, but that this attitude can actually be harmful.

I think this is a really important message, because we often forget that everyone, regardless of their profession or status, can struggle with mental health issues. And it’s important to talk about it openly and without shame, because that’s the only way we can start to break down the stigma.

Overall, I think it’s great that someone like Valdivia is using his platform to raise awareness about mental health. It’s a reminder that we all need to prioritize our mental well-being, and that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
