I just read an article about how the ongoing Hollywood strike is affecting Disney’s upcoming movie releases, including “Avatar 3” which is now delayed by a year. Apparently, the strike is causing production delays and impacting the ability to secure filming locations and permits.
It’s crazy how much power Hollywood workers have when they unite like this. I remember when I worked at a movie theater and we had to deal with similar issues during the writer’s strike back in 2007-2008. At the time, it seemed like such a big deal to not have enough new movies to show, but looking back, it’s interesting to see how these labor disputes can have such far-reaching impacts.
Anyway, back to the article. According to the author, other Disney releases like “Indiana Jones 5” and “Black Panther 2” are also being impacted by the strikes. It’s a bummer, but I guess we’ll just have to be patient and wait for these movies to finally hit theaters.
In the grand scheme of things, I think this article highlights how important it is to recognize the contributions of all workers in the entertainment industry, not just the big-name actors and directors. Without the hard work and dedication of all the behind-the-scenes crew, we wouldn’t have these beloved movies to enjoy.
