So, I just read this article about how Europa (the European Union) is investing in Chile’s development of green hydrogen, and they’re even giving support to Gabriel Boric, who’s running for president in Chile!
Basically, green hydrogen is a type of renewable energy that’s made by using electrolysis to split water into hydrogen and oxygen using solar or wind power. It’s a really promising way to make energy without producing harmful emissions, and lots of countries are starting to invest in it.
Anyway, Chile is one of the world’s biggest producers of copper, which is a mineral that’s often used in batteries and other electronics. They want to use green hydrogen to make their mining operations more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint.
The European Union sees the potential in green hydrogen and they’re investing billions of euros to support its development. They’re going to work with Gabriel Boric and other leaders in Chile to figure out how to use the technology to benefit Chile and the rest of the world.
I think it’s really exciting to see countries investing in renewable energy like this. I know it’s not the answer to all our problems, but I think it’s a step in the right direction. It’s important to find ways to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and find new solutions that are better for the planet. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll have green hydrogen-powered cars and buses driving around!
