So I came across this really cool article about the construction of a new concert hall in China, designed by MAD Architects. It caught my eye because the pictures of the building are absolutely stunning - it’s like a giant futuristic spaceship landed in the middle of the city!
Anyway, the article explains that the building is supposed to be completed in 2022, and it will be the largest performance venue in China. It also goes into detail about how MAD Architects took inspiration from traditional Chinese architecture, but added a modern twist to make it stand out.
One thing I found particularly interesting was that they integrated technology into the building’s design in a really creative way. Like, the ceiling is made up of hundreds of perforated metal disks that can move and change shape to adjust the acoustics of the space depending on the type of event being held.
Overall, I think it’s a really exciting project and it’s cool to see how architects are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with design. Plus, it’s a great example of how technology can be used to enhance the experience of live events. I can’t wait to see it in person one day!
