Insólito: canciller Álvaro Leyva pidió al Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU crear una comisión de investigación por el “entrampamiento a Santrich”

So, I just read this wild article about the Colombian foreign minister, Álvaro Leyva, asking the UN Security Council to create a commission to investigate the sneaky tactics used to entrap former FARC leader, Jesús Santrich. Basically, Santrich was arrested for allegedly plotting to smuggle cocaine into the US, but the evidence against him was obtained by DEA agents posing as Mexican traffickers. Leyva argues that this sort of trickery isn’t fair or legal, and that Santrich should be released immediately. Meanwhile, others are saying that Santrich is a criminal who deserves to be punished for his actions. All I know is that the world never ceases to surprise me with its twists and turns. It’s crazy to think about the politics and power games that go on behind the scenes, particularly with regards to drug trafficking. But beyond the drama and intrigue, this article shines a light on the importance of following ethical and legal guidelines when it comes to investigating and prosecuting crimes. It’s easy to get caught up in the desire for justice and forget about the rights of the accused, but ultimately, playing by the rules is what keeps our society fair and just.
