“La importancia de abordar el acoso virtual”: La reflexión de Fabiola Campillai tras muerte de Galee Galee - CHVNoticias.cl

So I read this article earlier today about the importance of addressing cyberbullying, and it really got me thinking about how toxic and hurtful the internet can be sometimes. It’s crazy how easy it is to hide behind a screen and say mean things without facing any consequences. The article was focused on a woman named Fabiola Campillai, who spoke out about the issue after the tragic death of a young woman named Galee Galee.

Basically, Campillai’s story is that she was a victim of police violence in Chile that left her blind. She’s been an advocate for disability rights and social justice ever since, but she recently became the target of online harassment from people who disagreed with her political views. She said that the hateful messages and threats made her feel just as vulnerable and violated as the physical attack that left her blind, and she urged people to take cyberbullying just as seriously as other forms of violence.

The article also talked about how common cyberbullying is, especially among young people, and how it can have serious mental health effects like anxiety and depression. It offered some tips for how to avoid becoming a victim, like being careful about sharing personal information online and not responding to trolls or cyberbullies. It also emphasized the importance of speaking out and seeking help if you do experience cyberbullying, because it’s not something you have to face alone.

Honestly, reading this just reminded me of some of the awful things I’ve seen people say online, and how hurtful that can be. I don’t think we always realize how much our words can affect others, especially when we’re not face-to-face. But it’s so important to remember that behind every screen is a real person with feelings, and we should treat them with respect and kindness. Overall, I think this article highlights something that we all need to think more about and take seriously.
