So, I just read an article about Luis Mena being named as the new coach for the Chilean women’s soccer team. It’s pretty exciting news, considering Mena’s track record of success with youth teams and his experience coaching in the Chilean league.
Basically, Mena is taking over for José Letelier, who led the team to a historic qualifying for the 2019 Women’s World Cup. Letelier will now be focusing on developing young players for the national team, which is something Mena has a lot of experience with.
I’m really curious to see how Mena will use his coaching style to help the team continue to improve. From what I’ve seen, he’s very focused on developing individual players and helping them reach their potential. That kind of approach could be really beneficial for a team like Chile’s, which has a lot of young and talented players.
On a personal note, it’s great to see more attention being given to women’s soccer in general. I used to play when I was younger, and it was always frustrating to see how little support we got compared to the boys’ teams. But things are starting to change, and I think having coaches like Mena on board can only help.
Overall, I’m excited to see what Mena can bring to the table and how the team will respond to his leadership. It’s definitely a good sign for the future of women’s soccer in Chile.
