Matthei y Kast acusan que incluir al “Museo del Estallido Social” en el Día de los Patrimonios es incitar el odio

So, I was reading this article about how Matthei and Kast are accusing the addition of the “Museo del Estallido Social” to the Day of Heritage of Inciting Hatred. I found it super interesting and kind of ridiculous at the same time.

Basically, the Social Outburst Museum is a new museum in Santiago, Chile that documents last year’s protests and activism in the city. The museum was recently included as part of the Day of Heritage, which is a day where museums and cultural sites open their doors to the public for free.

But Matthei and Kast are claiming that including the Social Outburst Museum in the Day of Heritage is promoting hatred and division in the country. They argue that the museum is only showcasing one side of the story and that it’s unfair to the police and military who were also involved in last year’s protests.

Honestly, I think their argument is weak. The museum is simply showcasing the reality of what happened during the protests, and it’s important for people to have a better understanding of what led to them. It’s not inciting hatred, it’s just informing people.

Plus, I actually visited the Social Outburst Museum a few weeks ago and it was really eye-opening. It made me realize just how much I didn’t know about last year’s events and how they impacted the city and its people.

So, I think it’s important for people to have access to this museum and others like it, especially as we continue to grapple with issues of social justice and inequality around the world.

In conclusion, Matthei and Kast’s argument is weak and it’s important for people to have access to information about last year’s protests and their impact on Chilean society. The Social Outburst Museum is doing important work, and it’s great that it’s being included as part of the Day of Heritage.
