Ministra Vallejo y convenio de pareja de diputada Pérez: "Fue un total y absoluto descriterio político"

I read a really interesting article titled, “Ministra Vallejo y convenio de pareja de diputada Pérez: ‘Fue un total y absoluto descriterio político’,” and it was wild. Essentially, a minister in Colombia made some pretty disrespectful comments about a same-sex couple in parliament, calling their agreement a “total and absolute political indiscretion.” It’s shocking that someone in a position of power would be so openly homophobic.

But it’s not just about this specific incident. It highlights the larger issue of homophobia and discrimination in politics, and how it affects the LGBTQ+ community. As a queer person, it’s disheartening to see this kind of behavior from people who are supposed to represent us.

However, it’s also important to acknowledge the progress that has been made. Just a few decades ago, it would have been virtually impossible for a same-sex couple to hold public office or even have legal recognition of their union. But now, even though there are still setbacks and challenges, there are more and more LGBTQ+ people in positions of power and influence.

Overall, this article serves as a reminder that even in supposedly “progressive” countries like Colombia, there is still a long way to go in terms of equality and acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community. It’s important to stay informed and educated on these issues, and to use our own voices and actions to advocate for change.
