Puerto Rico sobre el umbral de alerta en casos de influenza

Puerto Rico is currently on high alert for cases of influenza, as the virus has spread throughout the island. This news caught my attention, and I wanted to learn more about the situation. According to local health officials, the rise in influenza cases is due to the fact that Puerto Ricans are not taking the proper precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. This includes getting vaccinated, washing hands regularly and staying at home when feeling ill.

There have been several reported cases of people dying from the flu in Puerto Rico, which is particularly concerning, given the island’s ongoing recovery from Hurricane Maria. The government is urging residents to take the necessary precautions to prevent further spread of the virus, especially among vulnerable populations such as children, pregnant women, and the elderly.

As someone who has experienced the effects of flu season, I understand how important it is to take precautions to avoid getting sick. While getting vaccinated may not guarantee full immunity, it significantly reduces the risk of contracting and spreading the virus, especially to those who are immunocompromised. It’s also important to practice good hygiene, such as washing hands, using hand sanitizer and covering the mouth when coughing or sneezing.

Overall, the rise in influenza cases in Puerto Rico serves as a reminder of the importance of taking preventative measures to protect ourselves and those around us. We must all do our part to help stop the spread of this virus and keep our communities healthy.
