I just read an article about the Seremi de Salud urging senior citizens to get vaccinated against Influenza A. Basically, they’re warning that there might be an increase in cases this year and want to make sure vulnerable populations are protected.
It’s not exactly the most thrilling read, but I have to say, this topic hits close to home for me. Last year, my grandpa got hit with a bad case of the flu and it was really scary for our family. Thankfully, he recovered, but it got me thinking about how important it is to take these things seriously, especially as we get older.
The article breaks down the different groups of people who should consider getting vaccinated, including seniors, pregnant women, healthcare workers, and people with chronic medical conditions. It also emphasizes that the vaccine is safe and effective, and that getting vaccinated not only protects you, but also helps prevent the spread of the flu to others.
I think this is a really important reminder for all of us, especially during these weird times of COVID-19. It’s easy to forget about other health concerns when there’s a pandemic going on, but the flu is still out there and still dangerous, especially for certain populations. So, if you or someone you love falls into one of those categories, consider getting vaccinated ASAP!
