So, I came across this wild article about a mom who took her autistic son out of a hospital in Chile after they left him on a plastic chair for 16 hours straight! Can you even imagine? And now the hospital is actually taking her to court for “kidnapping” him.
From what I gather, this poor boy had to go to the hospital for some kind of stomach infection, but then the doctors just left him sitting there without any treatment or food or anything. And his mom had to literally beg them to give him attention. She even tried to feed him herself! But eventually, she had enough and decided to just take him out of there and transfer him to a different hospital.
It’s insane to me that the hospital is trying to blame HER for this. Like, hello, maybe if they had provided adequate care and treatment for her child, she wouldn’t have had to resort to this extreme measure! It just goes to show how messed up our healthcare system can be sometimes.
Anyway, I think this article really highlights the importance of being your own advocate and standing up for what’s right, even if it means going against authority. No one should have to endure such horrible conditions, especially not a child with special needs. It’s our job as a society to ensure that everyone gets the care and respect they deserve.
