Basically, a mother of an autistic child had to spend 16 hours on a makeshift plastic chair bed at a hospital in Talca, Chile before she decided to take her child out and bring him home. As if that wasn’t frustrating enough, the hospital actually reported her to the authorities for taking her own son out of that unacceptable condition.

It’s really sad that a mother has to resort to such extreme measures just to ensure that her child gets the basic care he needs. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for parents of children with special needs to navigate through a poorly equipped healthcare system. It’s disheartening to see that even in today’s world, accessibility to basic medical care is still a privilege that is not easily afforded by everyone.

On a personal note, my cousin has ADHD and I’ve seen first-hand how difficult it can be for his parents to get him the appropriate medical care and support. It’s time for us to acknowledge the importance of supporting individuals with special needs and their families, not just in the medical sector, but also with education, employment, and accessibility in general.

In conclusion, this article highlights the difficulties that parents of children with special needs face within the healthcare system. It’s important that we recognize the need for greater support and access to basic care for all individuals, regardless of their medical or physical condition.
