So, I came across this article about the UDI accusing two women ministers, Jara and Orellana, of covering up a sexual harassment complaint against ex-subsecretary Christian Larraín. Crazy, right?
Basically, Larraín was accused of sexual harassment by a female employee back in 2018. However, the complaint was allegedly covered up by Jara and Orellana, who were ministers at the time. The UDI finally decided to make a formal accusation against the two ministers for their involvement in the cover-up.
Personally, I find it frustrating and disappointing that sexual harassment is still prevalent in the workplace, and that those in positions of power are often complicit in facilitating it. It also highlights the importance of holding individuals and institutions accountable for their actions when it comes to sexual harassment and assault.
Overall, this article serves as a reminder that we still have a long way to go in addressing and preventing sexual harassment in all forms of society, especially in the workplace.
